We will start our tour through the modern residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. We will visit the Olivar Park, the Huaca Pucllana. We will make a stop at the Parque del Amor located in the Malecon of Miraflores. Continuing our tour, we will go to the Historic Center of Lima. We will visit the Plaza San Martin, the Plaza Mayor and its most important buildings such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the Archbishop's and Municipal Palace, the subway crypts known as Catacombs, among others.
Transfer to the airport to board the flight to Arequipa. Free time in the morning to rest. We will have lunch and start the tour in the Plaza de Armas, where we will learn about the history of the Cathedral of Arequipa. We will continue to the Church of the Company of Jesus, a jewel of the mestizo baroque, and we will visit its cloisters. Then, we will visit the Tristán del Pozo House, famous for its ornate facade. We will continue to the Plaza and Church of San Francisco, one of the most important and oldest religious complexes in the city, and finally, we will visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina, where we will learn what monastic life was like in colonial times.
We start with a visit to the traditional neighborhood of Yanahuara, we will continue to Carmen Alto, where we will appreciate privileged views of the Chilina Valley and the volcanoes that surround the city. Then, we will continue to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world, the tour crosses the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, home of vicuñas, flamingos and other Andean birds. We visit the wetlands of Tocra, the crater of the Chucura volcano and the viewpoint of the Volcanoes, the highest point of the route. Arrival in Chivay and lunch. Transfer to the port to embark to the Floating Islands of the Uros, a unique set in the world for its construction with totora reeds. After the visit, the journey continues to the natural island of Taquile, declared Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Free time to enjoy a typical lunch and explore its traditions. At the end, return to the city of Puno. Night in Puno
Departure early in the morning, the first stop is at the Pukara Lithic Museum, it is a culture that developed since 1600 BC, we will find ceramics and sculptures representing zoomorphic figures, including the famous sculpture of the HATUN AQAC that in our times would be translated as the supreme beheader. The second stop is in the walk of La Raya, is the border between the cities of Cusco and Puno to more than 4335 meters above sea level, here is the famous snowy CHIMBOYA, where the AMAZONAS river is born. The third stop is to enjoy a good buffet lunch. The fourth stop is in the archaeological complex of Raqchi, also known as the Temple of the god WIRACOCHA, which was the supreme Inka deity, in this place we will find the largest number of Colcas (Graneros) also see magnificent buildings in stone and adobe. The fifth stop is in the Sixth Chapel of Andahuaylillas, is a church dating from the seventeenth century also known as the Sistine Chapel of the Andes for the beauty of its murals, gold leaf work and paintings of the Cusco school that houses inside. Visit the archaeological site of Moray and the salt mines of Maras. Hike to the village of Pichingoto. After lunch, visit of Ollantaytambo and train to Aguas Calientes.
We will take a bus to Machu Picchu. During the guided tour, you will discover the mysteries of its architecture and the legacy left by the Inca civilization. Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then take the train back to the city of Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.
Early departure to Cusipata for breakfast. From Wasipata, we will start a 1h40 walk to the viewpoint of Vinicunca (5100 m a.s.l.), famous for its natural colors. After the descent, lunch in Cusipata and return to Cusco in the afternoon. Night in Cusco
